GROWING SHEFFIELD DIGITAL AGENCY OVER THE MOON AT FIRST BAFTA GAMES NOMINATION.

Sheffield-based digital agency Team Cooper has been nominated for a BAFTA Games  Award for their work creating Dick and Dom’s HOOPLA! - an online game commissioned to  accompany the madcap CBBC series starring legendary presenting duo Dick and Dom. The  game was Team Cooper’s first commission for the BBC.

Team Cooper were thrilled to be able to work with such a fun and well known brand and thrived in being part of the madness that the Dick and Dom banner brings. During the making of the game, discussions about the dynamic consistency of snot when fired from a cannon or how much armour a duck should wear became everyday occurrences.

Upon hearing the news, Business Development Director Emma Cooper tweeted: “We are OVER THE MOON about the @BAFTAGames nomination of Dick 'n' Dom's Hoopla”

Dick and Dom themselves then tweeted: “Everybody. The HOOPLA game on the CBBC website has been nominated for a BAFTA!!!!!! HOOOPLAAAA!” Team Cooper worked closely with the CBBC Hoopla digital production team: Aidan Castelli,

Sophie Bradshaw, Claire Miller, Mark Owen and Will Storer who are based in the Media City UK in Salford.

The HOOPLA game features a colourful array of stalls, each with their own zany take on classic fairground attractions: Dunk Dick and Dom with sticky stuff in Snot Shot. Navigate your claw through the traps to grab the right prizes in Grabby Grab. Try and make the characters riding wobbly crockery throw up in Plate Sick Spin. And knock the pesky Clown Kids down a duck or two in the Duck Down shooting gallery!

The game currently allows players to play against each other using the same keyboard. However, Team Cooper is currently excited to soon be developing a new, asynchronous multiplayer version. This means that players will be able to arrange to play against their friends from wherever they are.

Team Cooper are a digital agency based in Sheffield who have been steadily growing their staff numbers along with the size and scale of their projects. Since completing Hoopla for CBBC, Team Cooper has been developing games for Radio 1 and 1Xtra, Nickelodeon and CBeebies.

The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Dara O’Briain on Tuesday 5th March at the London Hilton, Park Lane.

Ends.
