Guerilla Tea - The Quest Press Release

BAFTA nominated Games Development Company, ‘Guerilla Tea’, has just released their first self-owned game. Aptly named, ‘The Quest’, it's an engrossing little puzzle that will keep you entertained for hours on end. The Quest looks right at home on both iPhone and Android and will shortly be available on Windows Mobile 7.

It has already notched up an award for 'Best Game Concept' at the Creative Loop Awards (2011), so those with an appetite for absorbing platform puzzle games will find a lot to love.

The player controls reluctant hero and bumbling Knight, Steve, who is sent on a Holy Quest by God... To recover his favourite Tea Mug! In order to help on this awesome quest, you're given the power to manipulate the world around you to create a path to your ultimate goal. The gameplay is based on that of the Rubik’s Cube, with the player having to rotate sections of the world to create a path to each level’s goal.  The Quest displays all the addictive qualities of the original Rubix Cube, so prepare to be hooked!

The release of this game is the latest in a string of successes for Guerilla Tea which, during the past year, has established itself as a competent and competitive developer in the work for hire market. However ‘The Quest’ represents their first original piece of Intellectual Property.

The company was set up in 2011 by four Masters’ graduates from the University of Abertay, and their combined areas of expertise; Design, Art, Programming and Production, has proved to be a winning combination.

In addition to the New Talent BAFTA nomination and industry awards, Guerilla Tea recently won a prestigious competition run by TIGA, the trade association of games developers and digital publishers.  As winner of the ‘Games-On-The-Move’ category in the TIGA 2012 Games Contest, they have been given the opportunity to access a grant of up to £25,000, to develop a prototype of their winning game, ‘Fangs Out!’, with development starting on April 2 nd.

It seems that this fledgling company is certainly one to watch!
