Huntington Beach, California - Technicat, LLC has announced version 2.1 on the iPhone and iPad, the culmination of a partnership between Technicat and Hyper Entertainment, Plc. to bring the original HyperBowl attraction game to mobile platforms. This latest update features all six of the original HyperBowl lanes - Classic, Rome, Forest, High Seas, San Francisco and Tokyo.
Technicat is also pleased to announce a repeat of last December's holiday charity promotion. Last year, the recipient was Get Well Gamers, an organization providing video games for pain relief to hospitalized children. This December, one dollar of every HyperBowl sale will go to a Donors Choose project.
The attraction version of HyperBowl debuted in the Sony Metreon in 1999 and is still available in venues such as Dave and Buster's. The attraction game features a tall projection screen, 3D fantasy bowling lanes, and a real bowling ball acting as the controller.
After a year of development on the Unity game engine, HyperBowl 1.0 was released for the iPhone and iPod touch in December of 2009 with the first three HyperBowl lanes - Classic (an eerie otherworldly environment), Rome (art and aqueducts of ancient Rome) and Forest (an idyllic setting).
Soon after the iPad was launched in April, HyperBowl 1.5 was released as a universal app with native support for the iPhone and iPad, including full-screen iPad support. HyperBowl 2.0 upgraded to the new Unity 3 engine, takes advantage of the latest hardware and Unity 3 features to add more graphical content in each lane, plus the San Francisco lane for HD devices and full HD resolution on the new Retina displays of the fourth-generation iPhone and iPod touch. In addition, HyperBowl 2.0 introduced Game Center support using plugins from Prime31 Studios.
