Idea Fabrik Integrates PlaySpan’s UltimatePay with Popular 3D Online Game Development Platform HeroCloud

Foster City, Calif. – September 5, 2012 – PlaySpan, a Visa company (NYSE: V) and leader in monetization solutions for digital content, online games and social networks, today announced an agreement with Idea Fabrik Plc (Boerse Berlin symbol GB00B61CVK31, TI4.BE) to use PlaySpan’s monetization product, UltimatePay™.  The relationship allows Idea Fabrik, a global online games company, to integrate UltimatePay with their online game development platform, HeroCloud™, enabling microtransactions and subscriptions billing support to over 7,000 developer teams on the HeroCloud service.

UltimatePay provides more than 100 global payment methods in 180 countries and will allow Idea Fabrik to easily scale the monetization platform for the HeroCloud service while accessing risk management, fraud prevention, and analytics tools to help increase conversion and user satisfaction.

“PlaySpan provides a proven one-stop global monetization solution to the ever expanding selection of global billing methods,” said Cooper Buckingham, Director of Business Development for Idea Fabrik.  “UltimatePay will be used across our web services and within the online game platform offering developers the flexibility between subscription-based and/or free-to-play revenue models for their games allowing players to make in-game purchases, rather than having to exit the game to buy game currency.”

UltimatePay will be integrated with the cloud-hosted version of HeroEngine, HeroCloud, a low-cost subscription plus royalty based platform for building, operating and publishing any online game and includes a suite of attractive features:

·      Full access to HeroEngine, the premier game development platform for online games trusted by triple A studios such as EA and Zenimax.

·      Integrated billing solution and monetization product suite (via PlaySpan).

·      Hosting and bandwidth.

·      Numerous publishing options and features such as executable clients, web-based browsers, and ability to stream content.

·      24/7 development support including online forums, tutorials, wikis, and game demos.

“The agreement with Idea Fabrik is an exciting look into the evolution of the online games business and how global gaming leaders are transitioning to more proven payment platforms,” said Karl Mehta, founder and CEO of PlaySpan.  “PlaySpan is committed to working with our partners to offer the next generation of monetization services, making payments more reliable, secure, and simple.”
