FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Uppsala, Sweden: 27th September 2010. Aurathon AB announced the opening of SPiRiTLiNG; a unique platform for community based sales of digitally distributed Games. Already now several premium titles from the world's finest publishers are available with more to come. The SPiRiTLiNG community offers a new retail experience in which gamers can earn their way to free games on the day they are released, simply by being active members of the community and accumulating SPiRiTLiNG Points.
Chairman and CEO, Thomas Avasol, said:“ We’re going to be offering some crazy rewards during this first beta period which will last a couple of months more. Write reviews for points, submit game news, add missing games or just be a great community member and rewards are close.”
- "We already have quite a few members who will be getting Medal of Honor on release day just by being good customers or having a few friends buying from them, who then sell other games back for points! If you are an avid PC-gamer do yourself a favor and check out the site at spiritling.com, we're giving away points right now for sign-ups!”
The SPiRiTLiNG platform allows gamers to earn points by participating in the community or by buying games. If they then help to sell the game to other community members they earn more points. Sell a copy to a friend or post about it on a social network and the gamer earns SPiRiTLiNG Points.
The beta store may be found at http://nexus.spiritling.com. It is currently only available to gamers in the US, but is soon to open in Europe and is planning for rapid expansion.
According to the latest NPD (National Purchase Diary) report, digital distribution of PC Games in the US have now for the first time surpassed physical distribution which strengthens the SPiRiTLiNG position even further.
“We’re encouraging more publishers to contact us directly and sign up to our unique platform” says Avasol.“This is a very exciting new way to make digital distribution of games work online and goes hand in hand with the new consumer behavior where online communities play an increasingly important role in influencing our purchases”.
