EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 19th 2012 - Scottish educational specialists Interface3 today announced the development of competitive local multiplayer title Cosmic Reactor for iPad, set to be released in late August.
Designed as a competitive companion title to collaborative releases Equator and Smash Party, Cosmic Reactor is a gently competitive title for two children aged five and up, set in the deepest confines of space amongst an ensemble cast of quirky alien characters and fastest-finger reaction challenges. Multi-round gameplay will keep players on their toes, and a variety of challenges will give all players an equal chance at going for gold.
Cosmic Reactor will keep kids' reactions on edge whilst also putting their numeracy and literacy skills to the test across a variety of minigames. The app will be released in two distinct flavours, Words and Numbers, with each version filled to the brim with tailor-made, subject-appropriate content that also prevents children from accidentally playing the wrong games in class.
As a further expansion into innovative and practical educational titles for touch devices, Cosmic Reactor serves up same-device multiplayer gameplay for young children whilst also delivering a unique competitive edge designed to motivate kids towards practicing their skills to best their friends inside the game. The finished game will feature multiple, unique playable characters to choose from, eight mini-games to play and a variety of teacher-friendly features for tracking progress and customising lessons.
Cosmic Reactor will be released on iPad and Android in the second half of August. SMART Table and Microsoft PixelSense versions are also in development.
- Friendly, competitive two-player same-device gameplay
- Individual apps for literacy and numeracy, to avoid confusion in class or at home
- Delivers a competitive edge rather than collaborative, making it an ideal partner app with other Interface3 titles
- Zany alien characters and action-packed presentation style
