EDINBURGH, Scotland, June 14th 2012 - Scottish educational specialists Interface3 today announced the development of Equator for iPad and Android, set to be released in late August.

A two-player collaborative maths and problem solving game playable on a single tablet device, Equator deals with numeracy at all levels for children aged 5 and up, from the most basic addition and subtraction all the way up to full use of BODMAS. Set on a planet split horizontally across the screen, players are tasked with combining dynamically generated numbers and mathematical operators to create results of equal value on each side, allowing them to progress together and unlock further levels of more challenging difficulties.

The game demands both individual thinking and co-operation, requiring players to use numeracy skills to calculate potential results and to collaborate with one another to create equal-value solutions. Wrapped in a "farm harvest" storyline, the game features individualised, customisable, hat-toting farmers as controllable characters, with the most revolutionary hat customisation ever seen in a child's learning game. Teachers will be pleased to know that cosmetic features can be disabled for focused gameplay in class.

Another example of Interface3's continued mission to create appealing collaborative learning games, Equator has already been tested in local primary schools to ensure it delivers an experience which is as fun and enjoyable as it is educational, and feedback from children and teachers alike is positive. The combination of the appealing presentation, an emphasis on collaboration between players, and a proven formula is sure to be popular with parents and teachers alike, and represents Interface3's intention to fortify learning games with character as strong as their ability to teach.

Equator will be released on iPad and Android in the second half of August. SMART Table and Microsoft Surface versions are also in development.
