Regarding this groundbreaking collaboration, Koopa Soundworks founder, Mohammed Taher, reflects, "What makes World 1-2 more than a simple collaborations album is the diversified talents found in it. While the roster features international talent (US, Europe, Middle East and Japan), it's not about one game or one nation or even one genre-but performing in unison for the love of games and music."

Koopa Soundworks composer and co-planner Manami Matsumae adds, "For  World 1-2, a variety of artists from multiple genres have put forth their own differing style and sensibilities into one CD, which makes it quite special. Even though we do not speak the same language, simply listening to their music allowed me to understand their feelings in the same way that I understand the Japanese language. I find their music to be truly amazing."
