„Touchies“ is a compilation of simple smartphone mini games with a twist. It might look like a very simple idea, but in reality you‘ll have trouble finding something similar on the market. Why? Because „Touchies“ is about something everyone tries to avoid — the human touch!
The basics of many similar games (air hockey for instance) are simple. People play on the same device, so in order to make it less touchy, designers usually limit player’s actions to his side of the screen. „Touchies“ offers quite the opposite — a full scale assault on opponent gates, finger brawling your way to victory!
„It is rather strange, that with all the social tools we have, we’re hanging out with people miles away, often forgetting the ones sitting right next to us. With „Touchies“ we seek to prove that real physical player interaction is awesome and game designers shouldn’t avoid it.“ — says studio head Arvydas Slekaitis. „With this app we hope to bring human touch into gameplay and our lives, without taking away your smartphones “.
Currently there are 3 mini games included in compilation, a few more in the pipeline. In future updates, „Touchies“ will offer a vibrant variety of mini games — anything from quirky action, to puzzle or educational activities. We will also have co–op modes for those with romantic approach, but each and every game will stay true to the core idea — physical interaction will be unavoidable!
„Touchies“ is developed by a small indie team „Membranos“, based in Lithuania. Currently the project is pitched to crowd funding platform „indiegogo“ with hope to fund the porting and marketing of the game. Everyone will be able to have a glimpse at the game when the open beta launches in mid-September.
„Membranos“ team will appreciate any informational support for this project. We believe, that there’s more to touch than glass.
