A science fiction/comedy piece of interactive fiction set in New Mexico, "Cryptozookeeper" is a blend of classic text game puzzles, cryptid creation and animal fighting. With over 60 creatures of cryptozoology like Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster and the fur-bearing trout, "Cryptozookeeper" has been described as a cross between "Zork," "Monster Hunter" and a really good call on Coast-to-Coast AM. It has a full soundtrack and hundreds of characters to meet and places to go.
While a deluxe version is for sale with extras, the entire game is available for download thanks to the Internet Archive, in lieu of any sort of crippled demo.
"Cryptozookeeper" is the eighth work of interactive fiction by award-winning designer and programmer Robb Sherwin. It is available for Windows, Linux and OS-X.
