EL SEGUNDO, Calif. - Oct. 19, 2010 - KONAMI today announced SAW II: Flesh&Blood is now available on the Xbox 360 ® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation ® 3 computer entertainment system. A sequel to the original SAW video game and based on Lionsgate ® and Twisted Pictures' popular horror film franchise, SAW II: Flesh&Blood brings back the ultimate SAW experience in an all-new sequel with hidden deadly traps, mind-bending puzzles, intense combat, and an unforgettable storyline that takes place between the first and second films. The signature voice of Jigsaw has been reprised by Tobin Bell. And for the first time ever, his image and likeness will be in the game as well, further creating a SAW experience that is both terrifying and true to the franchise. With each and every suspenseful move in the game, players will once again be able to explore Jigsaw's sick and twisted world of choices and consequences, all the while being taunted by the maniacal Jigsaw.
"KONAMI has been in the business of creating memorable horror experiences for over a decade with our heritage in the survival horror genre," said Careen Yapp, Vice President of Acquisitions&Franchise Development for KONAMI. "So it means so much to align with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures to work on a video game based on SAW, the most successful horror franchise of all time. Our collective vision and approach for SAW II: Flesh&Blood will immerse players in a bone-chilling gaming experience that will not disappoint."
Twisted Pictures' Mark Burg and Oren Koules, the series' producers, added jointly, "The Saw experience has become more and more immersive over the years - from theme park attractions to the final theatrical installment of the series, Saw 3D in theaters this Halloween, there are so many great ways for fans to truly situate themselves in the terrifying Saw universe. But we love the Saw video games, especially Saw II: Flesh&Blood, because they allow fans to actually bring that experience into their homes in the form of an ongoing interactive experience of terror."
Developed by Zombie Studios, SAW II: Flesh&Blood puts players in the shoes of Detective Tapp's estranged son Michael, who is trying to understand his father's death. Through a series of seemingly unconnected events, the reunion may not be a happy one as he has become Jigsaw's next victim. In advancing through the story, players will face mind-bending puzzles, as they navigate their way through Jigsaw's terrifying world, and defend themselves against his minions. In order to survive Jigsaw's games, players must use their intelligence and desire to live in order to survive.
SAW II: Flesh&Blood is now available in North America in conjunction with SAW 3D, the seventh installment of the Saw film franchise, which hit theaters on October 29.
