Nov 7, 2012 (Guildford, UK) —As they move into the second week of their Kickstarter campaign for Kung Fu Superstar, Kinesthetic Games post their first major update. This new video focuses purely on gameplay and addresses common questions on the motion control aspects of the game as well as clarifying the ground breaking approach toward controller and motion control integration.
“Our Kickstarter didn’t launch with the flying start we were hoping for” said Kostas Zarifis “feedback from our supporters suggests we haven’t clearly conveyed how you play Kung Fu Superstar creating some confusion. The problem with trying to summarise a project as multifaceted as Kung Fu Superstar in a short pitch video, is that you don’t have the time to focus on individual aspects as much as you’d like. Also when you’re trying to innovate as radically as we are, some confusion and some questions are inevitable: Will the motion control gameplay be fast and accurate? What will it be like? And what do you mean it’s not a Kinect game?
A gameplay demo is a million words though as I like to say, so we think our first update will not only put all these questions to rest, but it will also clearly demonstrate the paradigm shift we are attempting to cause with our innovative approach to controls. We’ve been saying characteristically, “Kung Fu Superstar is not a Kinect game in the same way a driving game is not a steering-wheel-peripheral game” and I think after watching this demo everyone will know exactly what we mean”

About Kung Fu Superstar™: Kung Fu Superstar™ is the world’s first motion control enabled action game, where the fighting employs real martial arts techniques. Players will relive the epic journey of Danny Cheng, a young aspiring martial artist, as he rises through the ranks of international fame and stardom. Aided by his trusted Sifu, Danny will discover the secrets of Kung Fu and become the most popular martial arts stuntman Hollywood has ever known.
In a ground-breaking rethink of fighting games, players will use their full body or a controller to learn authentic martial arts techniques and level up Danny’s fighting abilities, as they improve their own knowledge of Kung Fu. Players then put their skills to the test on the movie set, where Danny takes part in dramatic fight choreographies and performs in explosive action sequences. With multiple movie sets and plots to explore, colourful characters to be met along the way, Danny’s own overarching storyline, as well as a platform for learning real martial arts in a fun and engaging way, Kung Fu Superstar™ will open up a world of possibilities to players of every background.
