LocoMatrix Offers Geolocation Games for Team Building

LocoMatrix ( www.locomatrix.com) is a UK tech company based in Brighton, developing unique and creative geolocation games and apps to aid team building activities. Combining puzzle-solving strategy with outdoor activities, LocoMatrix is creating unique uses for current smartphone technologies. Their latest game, Bombs Away, offers team-building exercises that can be optimised for any location.

The game requires competing teams to work together in a real world environment to locate and diffuse virtual explosives against the clock and before their opponents. Alongside the LocoMatrix smartphone virtual application, the Bombs Away experience tests teams’ skills such as local area map reading and general knowledge to achieve success.

Aside from this ready-for-market application, Locomatrix also works with team building consultants to develop fully customisable smartphone geolocation games for specific projects.

Moira Nangle, LocoMatrix director (formerly Director of Organisational Development at Virgin Atlantic), commented,“Smartphone GPS technology allows us to develop engaging team building apps that can be used in any location. LocoMatrix geolocation games provide a virtual environment in the real world, designed to motivate strategic thinking and team development. Depending on client requirements, we can customise unique learning experiences using widely available smartphone technologies.”

Aside from team building exercises, LocoMatrix develops alternative uses for their geolocation games API, from light-hearted entertainment to more in-depth training programmes as well as ICT education programmes.

Custom built versions of Locomatrix games can be developed to suit the requirements and needs of brands, marketing agencies and education consultants, amongst others. The team at LocoMatrix can help design and build bespoke concepts based on geolocation and augmented reality, to deliver not only technology-enhanced outdoor activities, but also motivational experiences.

LocoMatrix develops applications using Adobe AIR– a cross-platform runtime environment for building applications using Adobe Flash, Adobe Flex, HTML, or Ajax.
