Cambridge, MA– April 27, 2011 - Demiurge Studios, one of the largest and longest-running independent development studios in the Boston area, revealed this week their five finalists in the online contest for fans of the upcoming downloadable title, Shoot Many Robots .
The contest, dubbed‘Design Many Robots,’ asked creators to design their own vision of mechanical terror to be shot full of lead in the upcoming project, vying for a chance to have their robot appear in the first expansion pack for Shoot Many Robots after the game launches in 2011. Winners of the contest will also be given the chance to be flown to the Boston area to visit Demiurge Studios in person to watch their own robot creation come to life within the game.
“When we announced this contest during this year’s Game Developers Conference, we weren’t able to anticipate the outpouring of incredibly creative ideas we’d be seeing put into the project both on our forums and in-person during PAX East in Boston last month,” said Albert Reed, co-founder and studio director at Demiurge Studios. “We’ve spent the last month sifting through an enormous pile of blueprints and‘Why didn’t we think of that?!’ concepts, and we’ve narrowed it down to five of our favorites. We simply cannot wait to have the fans choose which robot will officially become part of our game's first wave of downloadble content.”
The fate of the final five robot designs rests in the hands of fans across the world. Voting has now opened on the Shoot Many Robots website, and fans can now have their say of which concept will go steel-to-shrapnel against P. Walter Tugnut in the first expansion pack for Shoot Many Robots when the game launches on consoles later this year.
