Magi.com Inc. launches Beta Site for Virtual Identity-Based Social Games with Live Auction Marketplace

EMERYVILLE, Calif. – March 6, 2012 – Magi.com Inc., a California based technology startup, today revealed at the Game Developers Conference the beta launch of a new social gaming destination that provides a publishing platform for developers of social games based around virtual identities. The Magi.com beta site includes the Mojo Market™, a free virtual goods auction platform that enables players to bid on and win virtual items and cash-valued prizes with Mojo points they earn from playing games, socializing, and purchasing in-game virtual currency. Today’s beta launch includes social games from established developers DJArts, HitPoint Studios, and Pixee Games, which will also be the first to provide the Mojo Market with virtual goods from their games. Magi.com is now extending an open call to leading developers of social games, providing them the opportunity to publish their online games via its new platform.

“We really appreciate the partnership approach the Magi team has taken towards developers.  Their platform is trivial to integrate with and their business terms are very developer friendly,” said David Whittaker of DJArts.

“The new site design helps our games create their own communities and makes it easy for others to discover them,” said Alex Iosilevsky, CEO of Pixee Games.

“Existing social networks force people to expose their real identity publicly when they play social games.  Magi.com is the first social gaming platform to support mixed communities of players with real and game identities enabling players to form social communities around the games they love without blurring them with their real-identity social networks,” said Alex St. John, Founder of Magi.com.   Additionally, we've paired our platform with the first-ever live auction marketplace for social games, where players can earn Mojo points to bid on both virtual items and cash-valued prizes in the games they are playing."

To launch the new virtual goods marketplace, Magi.com partnered with InComm, a leading prepaid product and transaction services company.  InComm will support the Mojo Market by offering virtual stored-value gift cards from leading digital content, music and gaming partners, providing a unique and highly valuable enhancement to the social gaming experience for players.

Additionally, Magi.com will launch electronic sales and fulfillment of stored-value cards through InComm’s revolutionary new Retail Transaction Gateway service.  InComm’s new service enables Magi.com to instantly fulfill virtual gift cards by transmitting a secure redemption request for electronic stored-value cards won in the Mojo Market auction.

“Magi.com’s Mojo Market is an ideal platform for showcasing the innovative new online business model we are enabling with this service. Players win and receive their virtual stored-value rewards in real time, creating a completely seamless experience for consumers,” said David Etling, VP Business and Product Development, InComm.
