"Make the Game 2012" is launched

You can now register for the international browser and social games competition "Make the Game 2012". Until 16 April 2012, developers have another opportunity to present their games to an audience of millions and obtain a lucrative publishing contract. Games in open beta release can also be submitted this time.

After its huge success last year with broad international participation, Computec Media is investing a total of 1 million euros again in 2012 to find new browser and social network games. The five-member jury of experts will award prizes for up to three promising games in the second year of "Make the Game".

Top-class judges with decades of games experience will once again ensure the quality of the prize-winning games: Michael Hengst, who has held various senior positions in the gaming industry since 1998, as chairman of the jury; Felix Röker (Vice President of International Development, Havok); Petra Fröhlich (Editor in Chief, PC Games); Florian Stangl (Editor in Chief, Online Computec Media), and Hans Ippisch (Publishing Director, Computec Media). The winner will be presented at gamescom 2012 in Cologne.

" 'Make the Game' already developed into an internationally recognised brand in its first year, due to strong participation from various different countries," according to Hans Ippisch, the publishing director of Computec. "We were amazed by the quality of the games that were submitted. We hope to surpass this high standard in 2012."

Slipshift, the Berlin development studio, won the top prize at "Make the Game 2011" with its futuristic strategy browser game 'Reborn Horizon' ( www.reborn-horizon.de). The game has been in open beta since 1 October, and is currently being prepared for its international launch by Computec Media.

Anyone who wishes to submit a game to "Make the Game 2012" can register at www.makethegame.de by 16 April.
