BOSTON, MA (August 7, 2012)- Video games and musicians have a long history of collaboration, from Michael Jackson’s Moonwalker to Guitar Hero: Aerosmith. Well, add one more awesome title to that collection! Today Brass Monkey announced that they will be releasing AWOLNATION’s Megalithic Mayhem to their platform in cooperation with Pod Digital Design and Red Bull Records.
Based on the innovative Claymation style of AWOLNATION's " Not Your Fault" music video, Megalithic Mayhem is an action game with a twist. Choose from comic versions of all those loveable AWOLNATION bandmates: Aaron, Hayden, David, Christopher, and Kenny. Each is ready for action with their own unique weapons and special attacks. Use those attacks to beat on aliens, yetis, reptilians, bomb-wielding penguins and samurai snowmen as you try to save the girl!
The game is now fully playable with the Brass Monkey controller! Brass Monkey-- which is free and available for iOS and Android devices-- allows users to play games online using their smart devices as controllers. Simply download, connect to Wi-Fi, and you’re off and rocking.
“We think this game is a great addition to our platform,” said Chris Allen, CEO of Brass Monkey. “Pod Design did an absolutely awesome job recreating the claymation style you see in the music video, but even better, they made a fun and addictive platformer out of it. Playing this using your phone as the controller just has such a great feel to it. It’s retro and modern all at the same time. The fact that it’s AWOLNATION and some really awesome music is just a bonus.”
Pod Design Founder Steve Curran said bringing the Megalithic Mayhem game to the Brass Monkey platform added a new dimension to the game. "The user experience of using a controller with with your thumbs is the familiar and natural way to play a game of this type. Playing the game using Brass Monkey feels like playing the game on a console."
The game Megalithic Mayhem is available on the web, on Facebook, as a mobile game for iOS, and Android.
Best of all, you can play this game, right now, totally free, by going to playbrassmonkey.com.
