membraine studios thanks gamers for sharing the love about Orbital Defence

Mark Sheppard said,“Thousands of gamers downloaded Orbital Defence while it was free. The membraine studios team was chuffed to see so many gamers jump in and give the game go. And we were especially tickled by those iPad gamers who wrote to us about their surprise that a pre-iPad game still looks as good as it does despite the higher res and larger format—a backhanded compliment, but cheers anyway, guys!”

He went on to say,“We’ve been humbled by Orbital Defence’s reception, to say the least, and by the kind words many people have left for us about our first little game. To all of you, we say THANK YOU.”

“And we’re of course very grateful to those gamers who have spread the word about Orbital Defence to their friends,” Mark commented.“Great word-of-mouth really helps indie developers like us continue to make the games we all want to play.”

Mark finished by saying,“We’re working on a new game right now, and we hope all of you who have enjoyed Orbital Defence will try our next game as well when that’s released. We’ll have more to say about that game when it’s closer to finished.”

About Orbital Defence

First launched in 2009 to critical acclaim, Orbital Defence was the world's first flick-shmup—an arcade-style, flick-based shoot-'em-up—for the iPhone and iPod Touch reminiscent of the great shoot-'em-ups of the past, such as Galaga, Missile Command and Space Invaders.

What makes Orbital Defence unique is its flick-based control system, which makes the most of the iPhone's touch-oriented control surface—the result of which is a great fun shoot 'em up that you can play in a cafe, on the train, on the bus, in the pub...anywhere you like.

Orbital Defence is available now on the App Store for US$0.99 at
