Paris, 12th June 2009: Metaboli, the European leader in the digital distribution of PC games, has today announced that Ubisoft® titles will be available via download-to-own for the first time. The deal, which comes into effect on 12th June, will be available to customers in EMEA through www.gamesplanet.com and in the U.S. through www.gametap.com. Metaboli has a longstanding relationship with Ubisoft, with numerous titles currently available through Metaboli’s subscription-based services.
“Metaboli currently has 47 Ubisoft titles in its catalogue, which have proven particularly popular with our users. Several games including Assassin’s Creed, Raving Rabbits, Prince of Persia, Far Cry, Brothers in Arms, Rainbow Six and the Splinter Cell series have performed consistently well across our subscription platform,” comments Pierre Forest, VP Content at Metaboli.“These games will undoubtedly achieve the same success through our download-to-own model, especially as they will now be distributed in the U.S. market following our acquisition of GameTap.”
In addition, Ubisoft will provide its own download-to-own service through its digital store, UBIshop ( http://shop.ubi.com). Metaboli’s white-label Digital Tycoon technology will be used to power UBIshop as well as individual e-stores dedicated to specific titles. Initially this will include:
• PC Brothers in Arms– Hell’s Highway
• CSI: NY
• Far Cry 2
• Grey’s Anatomy
• Prince of Persia
• Shaun White Snowboarding
• Tom Clancy’s EndWar
• Tom Clancy’s HAWX
• World in Conflict– Complete

About Digital Tycoon
Metaboli’s Digital Tycoon platform helps traditional publishers and distributors of video games to implement their own digital distribution service. Using the technology, they can develop, deploy and run their own digital distribution strategies on a global scale. Through a single interface, it allows publishers and distributors to talk directly to each other to define their policy for on-line distribution.
Today, Metaboli has more than 50 partners in Europe using this method to simplify and streamline their business, including Atari, THQ, MSN, T-Online, Orange, Virgin Media, FNAC, Pixmania, Micromania and Rue du Commerce.
Created in 2001, Metaboli, a French company, is currently the European leader in the digital distribution of PC games, and aims at worldwide leadership with the acquisition of www.gametap.com in September 2008, the American leader in video games subscription.
Thanks to its publishing partners such as Atari, Codemaster, Electronic Arts, Microsoft, Rockstar, Sega, THQ, Take 2 or Ubisoft, Metaboli makes the best video games catalogue available for download in Europe. More than 600 PC games are distributed through unlimited subscription plans on www.metaboli.com, and a system of download to own unit sales on www.gamesplanet.com.
Metaboli also developed the Digital Tycoon business-to-business platform, which allows publishers and distributors of video games to design, deploy and run their online digital distribution strategy on a global scale. Today, more than 50 partners in Europe use this ecosystem to simplify and streamline their business, including Atari, THQ, MSN, T-Online, Orange, Virgin Media, FNAC, Pixmania, Micromania, Rue du Commerce…
Finally, capitalizing on its success in online marketing, Metaboli created in late 2008 its own agency: Metagency, which offers varied benefits such as listing, membership, CRM and viral buzz to its partners in order to optimize their performance and increase their visibility on the Internet in Europe.
