Milthon Games Awards 2010: European Winners unveiled

The Milthon European Games Awards ceremony has been held this week-end in Paris, as the 5th Paris Game Festival inauguration. 8 statuettes has been given by the jury, its president Martyn Brown (founder of the British studio Team17–Worms creators), and the French Minister of Culture and Communication. The winners are rewarded for the excellence of their art as European studios and game productions.

Winners of Milthon European Awards 2010:

    <*> Best Indie Game:Limbo (Microsoft Xbox 360), the adventure/platform game from the Danish studio Playdead Games, <*> Best Audio Design:British developers from Climax Studios for the survival-horror adventure game Silent Hill: Shattered Memories (Nintendo Wii), <*> Best Mobile Game: iBlast Moki (iPhone/iPod), the puzzle game from the French studio Godzilab, <*> Best Game Design:the French studio Quantic Dream for their adventure game Heavy Rain (Sony Playstation 3), <*> Best Visual Art: the Danish studio Playdead Games for Limbo, <*> Best PC/Mac Game: Napoleon: Total War, the strategy game from the British studio The Creative Assembly, <*> Best Console Game: Heavy Rain from the French studio Quantic Dream, <*>And the Game of the Year 2010: Limbo from the Danish studio Playdead Games.

Frederic Mitterrand, minister of Culture and Communication, has rewarded David Cage from Quantic Dream for Heavy Rain game, winning the French game award‘Prix de la Création Française du Jeu Vidéo 2010’.

And finally, the Paris Game Festival’s 2010 Student Award has rewarded two winners tied for first place:

    <*>Paper Plane, from the Ecole Nationale du Jeu et des Medias Interactifs Numeriques (ENJMIN) <*>Gerridae, from Université Lumière (Lyon 2)‘Gamagora’ master degree.
