Tel Aviv, IL and NEW YORK – Oct. 24, 2012 – MoMinis - an Israeli-based mobile game publisher that provides innovative end-to-end tools and solutions for developers – today announced at Casual Connect Kiev 2012 that GameCast, its 3 rd annual contest, is accepting submissions starting today, Wednesday, Oct. 24. This year, judges from Google, Vodaphone, PocketGamer and Appolicious join the contests’ judging panel, as game developers worldwide compete to win $100,000 for the 2D mobile game with the most potential to be a hit on the Android platform.
The challenge has catapulted game developer careers and this year’s event gets deep inside MoMinis, with contenders gaining access to a vast array of resources and game development best practices from the game publisher. Individual game developers and studios will compete to surpass their peers in the categories of core gameplay, out-of-the-box-experience (OOBE), emotion, design, progression, monetization, social integration, branding and originality. “We are looking for developers who create games we all want to play,” said Eyal Rabinovich, co-founder of MoMinis. “There is tons of talent out there, but also many challenges. We want to provide developers with all of the tools they need from high incentives to the right development tools, know-how and of course our marketing capabilities.”
The winning developer will receive a $100,000 prize package including $10,000 in cash, $40,000 funding for the establishment of a game studio for the contest winner and $50,000 to be used in the winning game’s marketing campaign. The ten runner ups will receive Google Tablets, and additionally, MoMinis will give all the qualified games in the contest free promotion on MoMinis’ Games Network--PlayScape--with exposure to more than 30 million users worldwide.
Each week, contestants will be presented with webinars covering different topics, from game development technics, to graphic design, game design and marketing from the MoMinis’ team to help developers learn how to build mobile content faster, easier and better.
In order to qualify, the games have to be created with The MoMinis Studio – a fast and easy to use game creation integrated development environment (IDE).The MoMinis Studio facilitates the full lifecycle of mobile game creation, shortening the time frame from the initial creative spark to game completion. Key features of the MoMinis Studio platform include PlayScape integration, wide device support, on-device testing, simulation kit, and backward and forward compatibility to create a rapid development environment.
