Thursday 2nd August 2012: Eurogamer and GamesIndustry.biz have announced more investors and speakers for the UK’s premier games investment event, Games Invest 2012, which takes place as part of the Games Industry Fair at the Eurogamer Expo on Thursday 27th September 2012. Sony Computer Entertainment Europe XDev, Sheridans, SEGA® and Standfast Interactive have now been confirmed for Games Invest 2012, an event that allows small-to-medium-sized games and tech companies to find out more about public and private games investment, and also have an opportunity to network and pitch informally and formally to investors.
Investors and speakers also confirmed for this year’s Games Invest include We R Interactive, GAMESBrief and Ian Livingstone OBE, Life President, Eidos and Chair of the Access To Finance Group on the Creative Industries Council, who will be speaking and answering questions on the new Games Invest panel. More major international investors, speakers and sponsors will be announced over the next few months.
“Games Invest has been a great event for We R Interactive, and we’re delighted to be involved again this year” said CEO of social games company We R Interactive, David Rose. “As an investor, the event is a fantastic opportunity for us to meet dozens of games developers both formally and informally on the day. As part of the Eurogamer Expo, it also means we can check out and play the latest incredible games on the show floor.”
Games Invest 2012 includes advice and essential opportunities for games developers to network with project and equity investors, games publishers, public funders, angel investors and trusts. Every ticket purchase for Games Invest 2012 includes a morning of talk sessions presented by key investors, the Games Invest panel with an opportunity to ask questions, a networking lunch, full access to the Eurogamer Expo and Games Industry Fair, access to the GamesIndustry.biz networking party in the evening - and of course an application form for games companies to apply for formal pitch meetings with games investors on the day.
Investors have full access to every investment meeting application form before the event and, if the application is successful, will use this information to arrange formal half-hour afternoon meetings with games companies in private meeting rooms on Thursday 27th September. Last year’s event featured more than 30 private meetings between games companies and investors - with more expected for Games Invest 2012.
"Games Invest’s approach to networking means that, as an investor, I get to talk to the companies that really interest me and more importantly for businesses seeking finance – they meet with investors that match their needs,” said Melanie Hayes, Investment Manager at Octopus Investments.
Tickets for the event are limited, so if you’d like to book your place for this year’s Games Invest at £99 (plus booking fee) and find out more about the process for applying for games investor meetings, visit http://gamesinvest2012.eventbrite.com/
