More Manpower for F2P and Multiplayer - Fishlabs hires new

Hamburg, March 16th, 2012 – Fishlabs keeps expanding its teams: Only two weeks after the Hamburg-based developer of 3D Premium Games for smartphones and tablets announced the build-up of its new in-house QA department, Fishlabs now introduces another two new employees. Oliver Blaha has joined the company as Junior Backend Architect on February 20th, 2012 and Paul Evers has been on board as Junior Programmer since March 1st, 2012.

Before his engagement with Fishlabs, the graduate computer scientist Oliver Blaha (30) had worked as Lead Developer for InnoGames, where he was not only in charge of a number of developing tasks but also fully responsible for the mechanics behind the browser game Lagoonia. The focus of his work lay on high performance, internationalization, maintenance, modular client server architecture and high scalability. At Fishlabs, Blaha will be in charge of the server architecture of the company’s upcoming free-2-play and multiplayer titles. Among others, he will optimize said servers in regards to multiplayer functionality and high amounts of traffic.

After finishing his studies in computer science in November 2011, Paul Evers (28) joined Keen Games as a Junior Programmer. His main task was the development of tools and gadgets for “Sacred 3” and he developed a wide variety of programs that aided the game designers, level designers, audio designers, gameplay programmers and QA analysts working on that title. At Fishlabs, Evers will take part in the gameplay and frontend programming of the company’s upcoming multiplayer titles.

”Since we are going to release our first mobile free-2-play title later on this year, the time is ripe for a complete overhaul and optimization of our server architecture in order to prepare it for the expected user rush”, says Michael Schade, CEO of Fishlabs. “This is quite a challenge, because on mobile there is always the chance that millions of gamers from all over the world will be accessing your servers and downloading your titles on a launch weekend. Furthermore, we also have to expand our team in order to make sure that we can deliver our distinctive premium quality on the highly competitive F2P market as well. We’re glad to have Oliver and Paul on board now, because they are two very talented and highly motivated programmers, who will be a tremendous help for our frontend and backend development.”
