PCGamesN.com is the first site from Network N Ltd – the new media business started by ex-Future games boss James Binns.
Network N is building independent fan communities. At launch PCGamesN.com features 18 fan channels (called Ns) based on the top PC games franchises.
Network N focuses on the games that gamers are actually playing. Network N’s unique approach combines original journalism, with audience submissions and aggregated content from across the web. PCGamesN.com will have everything about the biggest PC games, all in one place.
As an example, in www.pcgamesn.com/guildwars the site features hands on previews of Guild Wars 2’s classes and coverage of the most recent beta weekend alongside agregated content teaching you to be a masterchef in the game and submissions to fan art.
Managing Director James Binns said, “PCGamesN.com has assembled a talented team to drive editorial quality and our developers have built a brilliant new platform. Our mission is to give our audience the latest, best stuff about the game they love.”
The PCGamesN.com launch Editor will be popular journalist Dan Griliopolous, joined by Associate Editor Steve Hogarty (formerly the Editor of PC Zone). The respected editor Tim Edwards has left his role as head of PC Gamer and from July 11th will be heading up all editorial in his role as Creative Director.
Commenting on the appointment of Tim Edwards James Binns said, “Tim has spent over a decade covering PC games and his mix of passion and craft will drive PCGamesN.com to deliver its audience goals. Oh, and he wants everyone to know that it was not his idea to make the N in Network N stand for Network.”
Launch partners include games publishers NCSoft and Wargaming.net, digital distribution business GreenMan Gaming and gaming PC manufacturer Alienware.
