Nitrome and Brass Monkey launch Touchy! - An app that allows users to play browser games with their smartphone!

For immediate release

London, UK (October 30, 2012) Award winning browser games studio Nitrome have been working with browser based console developer Brass Monkey for months to incorporate their patented ‘smart device as a controller’ technology into the new app named ‘Touchy’. Touchy allows users to play full screen games on their tv or monitor by connecting web browser games to a smartphone which are used as the controllers. There are 10 games launched today at www.nitrome.com that allow users to explore fully what the app has to offer.

People can download the Touchy app for free and try out motion controlled game ‘Super Snotput’. Users can play the other launch games via a one time in app payment! This will give players full access to the 10 launch titles and 20 further games within the next 6 months.

Nitrome’s Managing Director Mat Annal says ”The Touchy app shares a lot of what has been done recently with motion controls and contains some of the functionality of the upcoming Wii U”.

As part of the partnership Nitromes games will also be made available through Bass Monkeys online console www.playbrassmonkey.com on a rental or a la carte pay per game basis.

The launch titles serve to show of a large variety of possible control schemes from virtual pads, custom interfaces, tilt based gaming, 1 to 1 motion controls and touch based drawing. One game also shows off the multiplayer possibilities of the app allowing 4 players to play at the same time each with their own smartphone as the controller.

Touchy and Brass Monkey are compatible with iOS and Android Devices (Touchy Android build to be launched soon).

Over the next six months another twenty Nitrome games will be launched for Nitrome: Touchy and Brass Monkey, so check back with both sites every week or follow www.facebook.com/Nitrome and @BrassMonkey on Twitter for updates!
