Cheyenne, WY, United States. -- September 13, 2011 -- nonSoft ( http://www.nonsoft.net/) is pleased to announce the release their Arcade Game Pack, a collection of seven new retro games.
The 7 games in the nonSoft Arcade Pack are:
Tribongo -- A wild ball-and-paddle game where you control three paddles at once against the CPU opponent, all while the ball and paddles are constantly changing shape and size.
Hex Break 360p/720p -- Control up to 4 paddles at once while trying to break ever-shifting hex bricks, with optional 1280x720 HD mode.
Drag Rally -- Top-down racing game with billions of tracks, controlled simply by clicking and dragging with the mouse.
Null Vektor -- A Tempest clone controlled best with a 3-button wheel mouse
Captain Polygon Vs. The Bubbleoids -- An Asteroids clone with as many as 6000+ objects on-screen, two gameplay modes, five ship types, multiple stackable powerups, AI wingmen, etc.
Monocade -- Wario-Ware-like test of reflexes using several mini-games.
Alien Invasion 4800 -- A zany alien Choplifter hybrid which features farting bulls, pesky ninjas, and procedurally-drawn environments.
nonSoft frequently uses procedural generation techniques. So, for example, Drag Rally racing game can generate billions of different race tracks. Most of the games generate their own levels, backdrops, etc., to one extent or another. The procedural generation, along with the retro graphics, allows the games to be very small in disk size.
Varying player abilities were also taken into account. Nonsoft wanted to make the games more accessible to younger children, the elderly, the physically challenged, or even just the left-handed. So the games include a wider range in difficulty settings, from extremely slow and easy, to nearly impossible.
The 7 games that comprise the pack are priced at $4.99 total, which means about $0.72 per game.About nonSoft:
