Peace Games Reaches 500,000 Gamers

London, UK – 23 September 2013/… The first Peace Games - organised by Playmob, the London-based technology company championing charitable fundraising through games - reached over 500,000 gamers through a 24-hour livestream and in-game fundraising initiatives.

The live event broadcast from UKIE’s London office ( http://ukie.info/), and streamed globally through Twitch TV ( http://www.twitch.tv/peacegames) took place during global Peace One Day, the annual day of global unity on 21 September 2013. Peace Games successfully raised thousands for worthy causes through a combination of the livestream event, as well as special Peace Games in-app purchases in conjunction with Kobojo, SoshiGames and Playdemic.

Highlights from the livestream event included Sony Xdev demoing LittleBigPlanet 2’s community levels plus a special Peace Games outfit for Sackboy; Sony Access TV playing Hohoken and offering a sneak peek at PlayStation 4, Capcom playing DuckTales Remastered, Jagex playing Runescape 3, Mediatonic playing Foul Play, UKIE playing Animal Crossing; a tutorial on Farming Simulator 2013; Andrew Smith from SpiltMilkStudios revealing his love for Super Mario Galaxy 2; and HotSauce Interactive’s Georg Backer playing Space Chimps.
