LONDON, UK - December 20th 2010 - Leading independent games developer Big Pixel Studios today released an update to their hit iOS title Piyo Blocks 2 (v1.6) which adds online multiplayer using Apple's Game Center. Also, in collaboration with OpenFeint's Free Game of the Day, Piyo Blocks 2 will be completely free to download on Tuesday 21st December 2010.
The new multiplayer mode allows users to battle online against other players in the match-3 puzzler, building up combos and sending attacks to their opponents game. Four different attacks are available, ranging from a dog on skis which can freeze an opponents blocks, to a ghost who can create a snow storm to inhibit an opponents view.
Access to the multiplayer mode requires iOS 4.1 or higher, and the compatible devices are iPhone 3GS and above, or iPod touch 2G and above. These are technical requirements in order to use Apple's Game Center service.
In addition to the free promotion of Piyo Blocks 2, Big Pixel Studios are also running a sale on a number of other iOS games during the holidays. Beginning today, Piyo Blocks, Meow Meow Happy Fight, and Meow Meow Happy Fight HD (for iPad) will all be available for the sale price of $0.99 (£0.59,€0.79).
