PvP anytime, anywhere: GNE reveals more Age of Wulin details

Dublin, Ireland – December 10 th, 2012 – Players will experience a huge PvP and reputation system in the upcoming Martial Arts MMORPG Age of Wulin:   Gala Networks Europe, one of the leading free-to-play games publishers and operator of the  www.gPotato.eu portal, today reveals more details about how extensive the game features of Age of Wulin are, and how well they’ve been woven into the overall gaming experience. The PvP system, for example, does not only allow players to fight, compete and duel with any other player at any time, but is also part of a much bigger social networking system, that even involves in-game achievements and rewards.

Player-vs-player combat is possible anytime and anywhere in the Jianghu, the game world of Age of Wulin, and only restricted when it comes to completely new characters: Only new players and characters, who haven’t completed the introductory tutorial and joined a sect yet, are protected to not get attacked. Other than that, everything is possible, and players can freely enjoy PvP battles.

Players can even unlock in-game achievements for PvP successes. These achievements will not only earn them rewards, but can also be shown off in the game-internal social network system, that allows players to interact with their friends and enemies also when their characters are not nearby.

Through this system, players can also grant bounties on the heads of other players – for example when they want other players to help them taking revenge.

Attacking other players obviously is a crime – but in the open gaming world of the medieval Jianghu of Age of Wulin, there isn’t a police system that works country-wide. Only local authorities can try to hunt down criminals (or players, who signed up for constable duties), and mostly, guards and policemen will be found in cities.

Still, players with an extensive crime record might end up in a penitentiary, and will have to spend their prison time online. Bribing wardens, or, in some cases, doing good by raising money for charity might help to get free from jail earlier.

Part of the PvP system is also group and faction-based warfare: Additionally to the 1,300-player guild-vs-guild PvPs, there’s also the opportunity to see sects, the factions in Age of Wulin, fighting against each other. These battles can turn out to be pretty massively, too, allowing up to 760 players (300 members + 80 supporters per sect) to take part in one conflict.

When sects start to combat each other, players fight for precious rewards, such as powerful buffs that will affect all members of the winning sect, and personal reputation, score and rank benefits.

Age of Wulin is an epic free to play MMORPG set in Imperial China, which revolves around the lore and practice of Chinese martial arts within the Wuxia universe. Gamers can join eight different sects, each with their own unique style of combat, and experience deep character development. Players will not be bound by traditional level systems, but will instead have the freedom to choose how they want to master their character by acquiring skills. Freedom of choice is a theme that runs throughout Age of Wulin as players can choose professions and whether they wish to live good, evil, or in between. The choices made will ultimately determine many different outcomes and provide for a personalized story, which is unique for every player.  Age of Wulin will offer a unique MMORPG experience in a gigantic open world, including ground breaking new PvP and PvE features, such as guild warfare mass PvP battles for up to 1,300 players.

Age of Wulin will be available in English, French and German in 2013 from the gPotato.eu portal, with the closed beta tests starting in early 2013.
