(N.B. The monthly games chart is based on titles released and reviewed in the last month. The apps chart is based on titles reviewed over the last three months. Hence, this is not a cumulative chart and earlier released titles may have higher scores.)
Experimental Gameplay Group's Little Inferno takes the top spot in the iPad Qi game chart for February with its highly subversive ways. What appears at first to be a cute timewaster, you see, soon reveals itself to be a cutting satire of pointless freemium games. Ouch! Word Up Dog, meanwhile, is a completely fresh take on the humble word game, in which you take control of a hip hop-spouting dog (yes, you read that right) and dig for hidden letters. 'You digggg?' Ah, forget it. Down in sixth place, we have some interstellar multiplayer action in Everplay's Rock Blocker. It's a retro-tinged twin-stick shooter with some neat same-device co-operative and competitive modes. Coming back down to earth for a second, Cordy 2 plants its feet firmly on the #7 spot. It follows in the successful footsteps of the original Cordy by serving up yet more sumptuous 3D platforming gameplay.
Topping the iPad Qi app chart for February is Discworld: The Ankh-Morpork Map, which lets you explore a portion of Terry Pratchett's imaginative and wickedly humorous universe. It's like Google Maps, but funny and usable offline. We all like to indulge in a spot of coffee table psychology, so there's little surprise that He is She is has risen all the way to #3 on the apps chart this month. Create profiles for those around you and figure out what's making them tick in GRsoft Labs's handy tool. In the #4 berth is Geo Challenge, a great and colourful way for kids to learn geography. Spin the globe, explore new countries, and hear greetings in various languages. Speaking of culture, Nigellisima helps Nigella Lawson spread her particularly posh home cooking message to the Android masses.
We'll continue to provide an updated listing each and every month, together with a round-up of the year. For all the up-to-date information on which iPad games, apps, and publishers are reviewing best, head on over to the iPad Quality Index now.
