CHICAGO , IL , February 29, 2012 – It’s a tale of heroes of such epic proportions, the bards would have written flowing poems about the battles. Mercifully, there are no bards here – only retro64’s new action/strategy game, Rune Raiders. Available March 15 on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch for $1.99, Rune Raiders challenges your eclectic band of archers, wizards and other mystical warriors as they attempt to defeat their enemies.
“ Rune Raiders is a fun, and really accessible game whose control scheme will be instantly familiar to iOS players so they can jump right in and watch the carnage unfold,” said Mike Boeh, founder of retro64. “Each level gets a little more challenging as your opponents get tougher to defeat, so it’s important to make sure you’re picking up all the cool power-ups and perks along the way.”
Structured like a classic board game, Rune Raiders has you select the right mix of skills from among 12 individual fighters – each with their own special weapons, damage, armor and speeds -- as you embark on defeating your enemies. But you will need to adapt to survive and fortunately each level holds new power-ups and perks such as Designer Armor that improves your defense or Explosive Arrowheads that increase damage to all enemy tiles.
Additional features include:
· 15 levels, plus a random, survival mode;
· 5 level-ups per hero;
· 15 unique enemies, including 3 bosses;
· 3 different terrains;
· Classical and extremely heroic soundtrack;
· Game Center Achievements;
· Game Center Leaderboard;
· Unique character dialogue for each level, depending on the party chosen.
