Robert Fearon, creator of cult indie hits SYNSO, SYNSO360 and SYNSO2:Squid Harder launches his latest creation, Death Ray Manta, in conjunction with Bundle In A Box.

Merseyside, England. 15/09/2012. For immediate release.

Entitled Death Ray Manta or DRM for short, the game fuses searing neon graphics, arcade sound effects and a Moroder-esque soundtrack to produce a modern videogame which isn't afraid to acknowledge its history. From Jarvis to Minter to the now, Death Ray Manta wears its influences proudly. Death Ray Manta also boasts the most colourful explosions in a computer game to date prompting Rock Paper Shotgun to describe it as "rather beautiful".

"Death Ray Manta is an attempt at finding the videogame equivalent of the perfect 2 1/2 minute pop song. A flashing, glowing exploration of the history of arena shooters condensed into the now. It's a game about finding and embracing the moment, celebrating everything videogame and being videogame. It's also an arena shooter where you blow stuff up and flash lights in your face. Because videogames. Death Ray Manta is videogames", states Fearon when asked to describe the game.

"It's also a game that's managed to get people to say that they love DRM. Which is something."

Death Ray Manta is available on pay what you want for the first two weeks of launch exclusively from Bundle In A Box. ( http://www.bundle-in-a-box.com). After the first fortnight, it will become part of Rob's showcase of games, the bizarrely named Bagfull Of Wrong.

"I wanted to launch with Bundle In A Box for a few reasons. One, I wanted the game to be affordable and launching in a pay what you want deal with some other fantastic games seems like a smart way to go about that. Two, I firmly believe that it's our duty to try and give other developers a leg up in making games and with Bundle In A Box organising a grant scheme where $10 is placed into the pot for every $100 spent which gets awarded to a developer at the end of the sales period, I get to not only launch a great game but help out someone too" said Rob Fearon.

Death Ray Manta launched on the 14th September 2012 and will be available through Bundle In A Box until approximately the 28th September 2012. It is pay what you want with a $0.99 minimum and the bundle features numerous other excellent independently produced videogames including Jeff Minter's classic "Space Giraffe". Every purchase helps a chosen charity and every 100 purchases helps another independent developer create his game.
