Rovio Brand Building Strategy, Exclusive Mobile Games Data Tops [a]list summit NY Agenda

PASADENA, Calif., December 20, 2012 – Ayzenberg Group and [a]list kick off their series of 2013 events with [a]list summit New York on January 29, presenting a day of sessions focused on mobile as a platform for game brand building and marketing.  The organizers today announced headline speakers.  Ville Heijari, senior VP of brand marketing at “Angry Birds” game maker Rovio, will participate in a fireside chat looking at how his company developed the blockbuster game franchise.  Peter Warman, CEO of game industry research firm Newzoo, will deliver the keynote session.  Warman is presenting previously unreleased data on the mobile game market, which Newzoo has agreed to provide as data briefs exclusively available to summit attendees.

Ville Heijari joined Finnish game maker Rovio shortly after the first “Angry Birds” launched on the iPhone in 2009.  Today, the game’s not only a runaway success but one of the world’s most recognizable entertainment brands, extending into toys, apparel, even theme parks.  The game franchise recently branched into “Angry Birds Star Wars” with new titles that are already topping mobile app sales charts.  Rovio has also announced that an “Angry Birds” film is in the works from John Cohen, producer of the hit animated film “Despicable Me.”  At [a]list summit New York, Heijari will delve into how his company, which says it now derives 40 percent of “Angry Birds” revenue from licensing, developed the IP by investing primarily in content marketing.

Game industry research and analytics firm Newzoo covers more than 40 of the world’s top markets for mobile apps.  At the summit, the firm’s CEO Peter Warman will deliver a keynote looking at how the success of mobile games now relies on more than analytics-driven player acquisition, rather demanding brand building strategy and techniques used by entertainment marketers.  Warman will present previously unreleased app store and mobile consumer data from Newzoo as part of his presentation.

Dubbed “The Rise of Mobile Content Marketing,” [a]list summit NY is scheduled to take place January 29 at the New Yorker Hotel.  Ayzenberg has partnered on the event with Video Games Intelligence, longtime organizers of Mobile Gaming and Cloud Gaming conferences worldwide.  The companies are kicking off their 2013 events in New York in succession, with Mobile Gaming USA East continuing at the New Yorker Hotel January 30-31.  Ayzenberg and Video Games Intelligence are offering all-access passes for attendees of both events.
