Second Indie Showcase joins up with Software City for Global Entrepreneurship Congress 2012 in Liverpool; readying official iPad

LIVERPOOL, England – March 5 th 2012 - Following the success of the inaugural Indie Showcase just a few short months ago, it was announced today that the next event will take place on March 14 th and will run in association with Software City. Both events are official events of the Global Entrepreneurship Conference, which takes place in Liverpool from March 9 th to 16 th 2012. Attending the Indie Showcase is free to delegates of Software City.

An official Indie Showcase iPad App, which highlights the products and services of companies within the sector, is also in the works and will be launched at the event. The free iPad App will be available worldwide to download from the App Store.

Steve Smith founder of Software City and Industry Director at Liverpool Vision said: “Software City is aimed at bringing business and investors together. It is an unbeatable platform to discover the potential in your business and access vital new connections and top quality advice. The Indie Showcase is starting to establish itself as a powerful and growing network for the increasing number of independent companies in the games and digital sector in the area. Software City delegates will now be able to connect with these companies and experience their games and services in a relaxed environment at our after-show networking party.”

Clemens Wangerin, co-founder of local company Setgo and one of the organisers behind the Indie Showcase, added “The concept behind the Indie Showcase is simple: give independent companies from the digital and creative sector in and around Liverpool a forum to showcase their games, products and services in order to create new business opportunities for themselves. We are delighted to be teaming up with Software City on this occasion for their after show networking party and with over a dozen companies showcasing on the night, we are looking forward to giving all delegates a real insight into one of the fastest-moving and most vibrant sectors in the city. The official app will form the ideal compendium to the event and will give even those unable to attend a great taste of what the sector has to offer.”

The Indie Showcase would not be possible without the excellent support from ACME, Baltic Creative, The Studio and Open Labs, all of which also feature in the App and who play an active role in supporting the digital and creative sector in Liverpool.
