Playpen Studios today announced that its top-selling DJ rhythm game Skillz for iPad TM will be available to download for free starting today, November 30th, until this Sunday, December 3rd, as a special promotion with FreeAppADay.com. Normally a $5.99 download, the promotion is a one-time only event that will be followed by a Holiday Sale, starting December 4th. The Winter Holiday Sale offers a daily deal starting at $0.99, increasing in price each day until it once again reaches the full download price on December 25th. Skillz for iPad offers rhythm-based DJ gameplay and has topped charts worldwide, becoming the #1 Music Game in over 60 countries and the #1 Grossing game in over 70 countries on the App Store charts. In the game, players select a DJ and strive to achieve superstardom, gaining fans by scratching and tapping their way through original remixes using virtual turntables, a crossfader and sample buttons. The initial download features 27 original remixes of popular tracks from Kid Cudi vs Crookers, People Under the Stairs, Diplo, Bassnectar and more. Additional music packs may be purchased from within the app for up to a total of 34 tracks to play across multiple venues and DJ personalities, with more remixes coming down the pipeline.

About Playpen Studios
Playpen Studios is a Hong Kong-based independent video game developer founded by Joe Gilbertson and James Wong in 2005. After winning a game design competition hosted by Microsoft, the duo went on to become certified developers for the Xbox platform and performed a multitude of project-based services for Chinese developers and publishers.
