Hemer, October 5th, 2010:
Firmware update 3.50 for the PlayStation 3 disabled all third-party controllers and peripherals. As a result, snakebyte is now offering a compatibility guarantee for all snakebyte products, which goes further then the legal warranty.
In the event that a snakebyte product can no longer be used because of a service or firmware update, affected customers can rely on the snakebyte compatibility guarantee:
1. If the snakebyte product can be updated (via USB, for example),
customers will receive new firmware to install.
2. If the product cannot be updated at home, customers can send it to
the snakebyte support center, which will send back either an updated controller or a new, compatible device for free.
"We are pleased to offer our customers additional security. They know that our products are prepared even for unforeseeable events - and they can count on us for support. We don't want to leave our customers out in the rain after an unexpected firmware update and therefore we now offer a compatibility guarantee for all of our high-quality products," said Mike Steup, managing director of snakebyte.
