Circuit Now Features Record-Setting, Blockbuster Title, Call of Duty®: Black Ops, Which Made its MLG Pro Circuit Debut in Dallas, Along With Halo: Reach and the Fastest Selling Strategy Game of All Time, Blizzard Entertainment’s StarCraft ® II: Wings of Liberty

NEW YORK—April 6, 2011— Thousands of top pros, aspiring amateurs, and video game fans converged in Dallas last weekend at the kick off of the 2011 Major League Gaming (MLG) Pro Circuit. More than 1200 players from around the world competed in a three-day, double-elimination tournament playing for the first time - the record-setting Call of Duty®: Black Ops on PlayStation®3, Blizzard Entertainment’s blockbuster real-time strategy game, StarCraft ® II: Wings of Liberty on PC, and the popular Halo: Reach on Xbox 360.

At the culmination of the competition, the following teams and players prevailed:

Call of Duty®: Black Ops on PlayStation®3– Quantic Leverage

Expectations surrounding Call of Duty: Black Ops’ debut appearance were high. After three days of grueling competition, Quantic Leverage proved they were the best team in the game dominating underdogs Resistance to win the Championship Match and securing $10,000. 

StarCraft ® II: Wings of Liberty on PC - dignitasNaniwa

In an intense extended series Final, dignitasNaniwa triumphed over ROOT.Kiwikaki to take home the title of MLG Dallas StarCraft 2 Champion bringing his record to an astounding 26-2 and earning him $5,000.

Halo: Reach on Xbox 360– Status Quo

The Halo: Reach event ended with Status Quo securing their first ever tournament win over Impact and earning $20,000.  Status Quo placed 2 nd in MLG National Championship last year.

In addition to the energy and excitement on the ground at the event, traffic to was record-breaking with visitors from over 150 different countries. The rebroadcast of all the Dallas matches are playing on throughout the week and more than 150 replays are already available.

The Dallas competition was the first of a challenging, six-city US Pro Circuit tour that will place the most talented players alongside their toughest opponents.  More than $1 million will be awarded throughout the year making this the largest MLG season to date.
