24 October 2012: Tandem Events has announced the first sessions for the Evolve Conference in London on 11 December 2012. With a line-up of expert speakers in the fields of cutting-edge technologies, emerging platforms and new business models, Evolve concentrates on innovations in games development, exploring how developers can stay ahead of the game in an increasingly competitive market.

Tandem Events is delighted to welcome Josh Atkins of Microsoft Soho Productions to Evolve. Josh will be discussing the process of creating an interactive television show, drawing upon his experience with the development of Kinect Sesame  Street TV in partnership with Sesame Workshop. He will be looking at the opportunities available to developers today and as smart TV devices become more widely available.

Mobile games guru Stuart Dredge will deliver a session on the year’s most innovative apps for children, with specific detail on how kids interact with touchscreen programs and  the implications for future development.

Moving over to the ever-important subject of funding, Adam Martin of independent mobile developer Red Glasses will dissect the ways in which business models and funding for games have changed in the last  few years and how they will continue to change. Adam’s talk will cover app stores, crowd-sourcing, and merchandising, among other areas, and will be relevant to anyone involved in developing, selling, funding, pitching, or commissioning games.

These are just the first of eight sessions to be announced for this year’s Evolve Conference in London, with details of further topics to be announced shortly.

Evolve is a must-visit event for anyone involved in pioneering technologies in games development. The conference will take place on 11 December at the DeVere WestOne, Portland Place, London W1, and starts at 10.30am.

Immediately prior to Evolve,  delegates can also attend Edge Presents: Changing the Game, a special event organised jointly between Tandem Events and Future PLC and featuring two sessions debating the future of games development. www.edge-online.com/edgepresents
