LONDON - Oct. 13, 2009
Orbital Worlds, an independent game development studio, today announced the arrival of their debut iPhone title Armoured Shift in the App Store. The groundbreaking open-world space shooter challenges players to shoot down hordes of asteroids, enemy ships and bosses using a spaceship largely controlled by the iPhone/iPod Touch’s accelerometer. The unique tilt-based control scheme offered by Armoured Shift sets it apart from the more traditional dual-analog joystick format utilized by the majority of open-world shooters.
Armoured Shift can be downloaded in the App Store by visiting the following URL: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewSoftware?id=330544220&mt=8
Along with the innovative control system, Armoured Shift includes an original score with eight techno-styled tracks to listen to while destroying swarms of enemy ships and projectiles. Fluid visuals and multiple game modes also add to the experience.
“When designing Armoured Shift, our intention from the start was to make sure that it stood out from the rest of the pack,” said Abdul Hameed, co-creator of Armoured Shift.“We feel that we have gone beyond that initial goal by giving top-down shooter enthusiasts eye pleasing visuals and a novel way to control their craft. Expect yourself to lose track of time when blasting the hell out of all the asteroids and enemies hurdling towards you!”
Armoured Shift features:
• Six Expansive Open World Maps
• Stunning Graphics Running at 60 FPS
• Multiple Enemies, Bosses, Weapons and Power-Ups
• Arcade and Progressive Story Gameplay Modes
• 10,000 Player Online Leaderboard and In-Game Achievements
• Eight Original Composed Music Tracks
