Last week was a busy time for Thumbstar attending both Game Connection America and GDC 2012 but the sheer numbers of attendees and product was astonishing. GDC saw a reported 22,500 game professionals attend, while Game Connection pulled together 800 different companies from 56 countries.
CEO Gareth Edmondson, commented, “We went to both shows with the intention of signing new global distribution deals with developers to continue Thumbstar’s aggressive growth and we weren’t disappointed. With parts of the gaming industry suffering, mobile is most definitely buzzing and the excitement surrounding this sector is there to behold in the hundreds of developers that we met with and products that we saw.”
Thumbstar Games already enjoys a massive back catalogue of over 3500 titles but continues to invite developers to get in touch to discuss the opportunities of a truly global solution to the distribution and publishing of their mobile products.
It is with this in mind that Thumbstar have already signed up to attend Game Connection Asia (Shanghai), June 28th-29th 2012 with the intention of sourcing from China’s development talent and exploiting opportunities for growth in China.
CEO for Game Connection, Pierre Card, added, “This year marked the 9th anniversary of Game Connection America, and we are proud to say that the event was an overwhelming success. Our foremost goal is to support industry growth and nurture business, and it was wonderful to see so many talented professionals join us once again in San Francisco. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Shanghai and Paris for our upcoming 2012 events!"
