To-Fu tops a million

November 24th 2011: Brilliant action puzzler To-Fu: The Trials of Chi is now installed on over one million iOS devices, UK developer HotGen has revealed.

The milestone comes just under six months after the game burst onto the App Store. Now completely free to play on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, the game continues to find new fans, propelling it to the top of several regional App Store charts.

Just this week, the game has been downloaded over 170,000 worldwide, and with more levels in development HotGen aims to keeping players ‘pinging’ for many months to come.

“Much is often made of the challenge of establishing a new intellectual property, but the success of To-Fu goes to show that with the right idea it’s still possible to bring original titles to market,” says Terry Haynes, managing director, HotGen.

At the time of writing, since launch, To-Fu has:

  • Achieved over one million downloads
  • Top 10 game in 38 countries worldwide
  • Gained 1,184 five-star ratings via iTunes
  • Earned 84 per cent Metacritic
Available on iPad, iPhone and iPod,  To-Fu: The Trials of Chi is an iOS game like no other, featuring a one-of-a-kind touch-screen mechanic that enables you to stretch and ‘ping’ the courageous  To-Fu through each of the 140 levels.

The game's control system couldn't be more intuitive - negating the need for on-screen buttons - simply requiring the player to grab To-Fu with their finger, dragging him to stretch and releasing to ping. The adhesive To-Fu will stick to almost any surface.

The game is available now, for free from iTunes http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/to-fu-the-trials-of-chi/id436987555?mt=8link
