For Immediate Release:
TrueAchievements.com, the premier source for Xbox 360 news and achievement information, is excited to announce our second annual, community-driven “Game of the Year” vote for the Xbox 360® console. With a community of over 140,000 registered users, TrueAchievements is giving a voice to gamers in one of the best years gaming has seen in this generation.
This year, the TrueAchievements’ community is not only voting on the overall Game of the Year, but also winners in every one of the site’s fifteen, qualifying genre subdivisions. Special awards will also be bestowed upon the Best Downloadable Content, Best Xbox LIVE® Arcade Game, Best Kinect® Game, and Best Windows Phone Game of 2011.
“2011 was a hallmark year for games,” says, Jonathan “osubluejacket” Barnes, Newshound for TrueAchievements, “We wanted to give our passionate community the chance to crown the best games of this year without restricting them to a pre-selected shortlist. In short, this is going to be the most democratic ‘Game of the Year’ vote this year.”
Voting will open to registered community members on January 2nd, with each week featuring up to six different genre categories leading up to the final, “Game of the Year” poll which will open on January 23rd. Final winners will be announced on-site on January 31st.
