TURTLE BEACH LAUNCHES AUDIO PRESETS COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF ITS PROGRAMMABLE HEADSET LINE

Elmsford, NY – March 2, 2012: Turtle Beach, the market-leading pioneers of the gaming headset category, announces another industry first--the launch of their highly anticipated Audio Presets Community web site for owners of the ground breaking PX5, XP500 and DELTA programmable gaming headsets. The Audio Presets Community allows users to upload their own custom presets so they can be shared with other users of Turtle Beach PX5, XP500 and DELTA headsets.  The site will also include presets developed by Turtle Beach and official game developers, along with training videos that provide detailed lessons on how to create presets using the Advanced Sound Editor (ASE) software (available as a free download).

Turtle Beach has sold more than 300,000 programmable headsets and more than 300,000 presets, voice prompts and software tools   have been downloaded from the Turtle Beach web site.  In addition, there is an open call to developers at this year’s Game Developers Conference in San Francisco to attend the Preset Academy which will be holding 30 minute classes from March 7-9 at their meeting room in Moscone West, 1 st Floor #BMR 824.

With the Ear Force PX5, XP500, and DELTA ASE software users can connect their headset to a PC or laptop and adjust the audio parameters while playing a game, allowing them to hear the effects of their “audio tweaking” in real-time. Integrating the ASE software with the community site lets gamers create, upload and share presets (i.e. customized sound environments), taking full advantage of programmable technology that is only available in Turtle Beach headsets. The site also lets users post feature details for each preset, view the popularity of their presets based on the number of downloads and have their presets rated by other users.

“Turtle Beach is by far the leading innovator in gaming headsets, and programmability is unique to our products.” said Bob Picunko, CMO at Turtle Beach. “With the launch of this new site, our users can now share their presets with others in the “programmable headset” community and get some recognition for their work. By making it easy to share and rate presets, we hope to expand the use of our programmable headsets to a larger audience of avid gamers.”

Programmable Audio Preset technology was pioneered by Turtle Beach’s audio engineers to give gamers and developers a customizable audio platform to tailor the sound of the headset for every gaming situation. Debuting in March 2011 with the release of the Ear Force PX5, this technology has been extended to the Ear Force PX3, XP500, DELTA and BRAVO models, each boasting its own custom tuned ASE or Presets Manager software.

The new Audio Presets Community can be found at www.turtlebeach.com/presets and already features a variety of custom presets created by Turtle Beach audio designers and community members for a wide range of titles on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
