London 1st September 2010
Two Way Media today announced the launch of a new casual game, Word Up, on Virginmedia.com, one of the UK’s most popular online destinations.
Featuring on the TV and Radio section of Virginmedia.com, Word Up is a TV-themed entertaining word game where you collect the names of TV shows, characters and celebrities.
The game is a word search within a word search. First you find words in a grid of letters; words are made by linking together adjacent letters. When a word is made it is removed from the grid and any corresponding letters in the TV name puzzle are crossed off. Your aim is to cross off all the letters of the TV name puzzle.
The game is played against the clock, with wild letters and score boosters adding to the excitement.
Word Up is the first of a raft of casual web games that Two Way plans to launch over the coming months. Based on its large catalogue of interactive TV games concepts, these games will bring a fresh take on the casual puzzling game.
Alison Davis, director of online at Virgin Media, said:“Virginmedia.com offers a whole host of entertaining and engaging content, from online movies and music videos to celebrity gossip and the best TV stories. As our users spend more and more time with us, we’re delighted to be offering a fun and interactive way of putting their celebrity and TV knowledge to the test.”
James Turner, Chief Executive at Two Way Media said:“We have worked with Virgin Media for many years, and are delighted to extend our games relationship onto virginmedia.com. Following on from the success of our red button word game String‘em In, we know that Virgin Media’s customers are going to enjoy this one!”
