Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare

Austin, Texas, January 11 th 2012.  The multiple award-winning indie game sensation Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare is heading to iOS & Android, thanks to developer Bad Pilcrow and publisher Replay Games.

Published worldwide by Replay, the game is now available in high definition for Apple iPad ($1.99) and standard definition for iTouch and iPhone for ($0.99).

The Android game will support all of the leading handsets and tablets, including Amazon's highly anticipated Kindle Fire, when it hits App Markets in January 2012.  Replay is giving Amazon a 30 day exclusive over the Android Market to generate marketing buzz around the Free App of the Day.  “All too often developers and publishers will release a game on the Android Marketplace and watch their sales stay close to nil” said CEO Paul Trowe.  “We have decided to take a different approach.  By utilizing the Amazon curated AppStore we are getting a much higher profile through their suggestion and decision engine to help promote our games.  We expect to see a significant number of sales due to this strategy.”

The iOS & Android versions follow the games' hugely successful launch on Windows Phone 7 handsets in mid-2011, which has enjoyed a conversion rate of over 15% from demo to purchase.  This is a significant number for any mobile game in today’s interactive industry.

Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare is a unique, award-winning take on a 2D platform puzzle game. The entire game takes place on the surface of a 3D cube, requiring players to twist, turn and rotate the cube to help Vanessa collect items and find her way back home.

The game won the 'Best Design' award at IndiePub's Independent Game Challenge, was a finalist in the 2011 Indie Game Challenge, was nominated in the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences' 2011 'Game of the Year' awards and was one of ten 'official selection' games in the 2011 Penny Arcade Expo.

Trowe has been blown away by the ongoing success of the game, “Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare is one of those games which just sucks players in as soon as they see it.  We led with the Windows Phone version of the game, which has been incredibly well received.”

Mr. Trowe attributes the success of the game to its inspired design and simple pick-up-and-play controls.  “The fantastic thing about this game is how intuitive and tactile it is.  Making each new screen a different face of a cube creates an entirely new way of looking at the game.  It's absolutely perfect for the new generation of mobile devices and we're looking forward to Apple and Android users all around the world joining in on the fun and helping Vanessa to escape her nightmare.”

David Sushil, the designer and developer of Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare, agrees entirely, “ Vanessa has been received amazingly well by consumers and critics alike.  Players seem to love the combination of puzzle solving and the strange 3D world Vanessa finds herself in.  I'm delighted that Apple iPhone, iPad and iTouch users can now join Windows Phone users in playing the game.  I can't wait for Android owners to join them and we can introduce a whole new mobile audience to the strange and disturbing adventures of Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare.”

Vanessa Saint-Pierre Delacroix & Her Nightmare is out now on the Apple App Store.
