Video Games Live: Level 3 New Game Announcements

Los Angeles, CA, USA – September 9 2013/… Video Games Live™, the first and most successful video game touring concert in the world, today confirmed five new games that will be featured on the upcoming Video Games Live: Level 3 album, which is currently running a Kickstarter campaign to fund its production and release. Music from Journey, Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good & Evil, Silent Hill 2 and Tetris now joins the already confirmed Street Fighter II, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Diablo III and World of Warcraft.

The Grammy-nominated music from Journey, the indie PlayStation 3 hit, will be featured on the planned Video Games Live: Level 3 album in a unique arrangement from Journey’s composer Austin Wintory and VGL’s Tommy Tallarico. VGL’s Tommy Tallarico has also collaborated with Silent Hill 2’s composer Akira Yamaoka to provide a new arrangement of the eerie and iconic soundtrack. This unique version has never been recorded before and will also feature Yamaoka on guitar. This clip from the TGS Video Games Live show in Japan was the first time that Akira Yamaoka performed in his Japanese homeland.

Also confirmed for Level 3 are Shadow of the Colossus, Beyond Good & Evil and Tetris, and it will be the first time that either of these exclusive live arrangements will be recorded for an album.

The philosophy behind Video Games Live is to showcase games in their warranted artistic spotlight while simultaneously introducing a whole new generation of gaming fans to the sights and sounds of the symphony. The Kickstarter campaign for Video Games Live: Level 3 the album will be studio recorded with a 72+ piece orchestra backed by a 60+ person choir and explosive rock band.  All recordings will be written, arranged and conducted by famous game composers from around the world. All proceeds will go the creation of the album and the fulfillment of the prize tiers for backers.
