VIDEOGAME AND MOVIE INDUSTRY VETERANS TO DONATE FILM’S PROCEEDS TO FAMILIES OF SANDY HOOK VICTIMS

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA (December 17, 2012) – ChaosNgn Production's has launched an IndieGoGo campaign to raise funds for their upcoming original comedy movie, “Pwned!” All proceeds from the sale of the film will go to benefit the families, loved ones, and school children of the Sandy Hook shooting.

The campaign is located at: www.indiegogo.com/pwned

“There was no question about whether or not we wanted to do this. It was quite simple,” said producer Hannah Ervin. “A few of us even came to each other at the same time with the exact same idea.”

The group hopes to raise $50,000 on the crowd funding site Indiegogo in order to shoot the film. The goal is to sell the film to a distributor, as the film will be a virtual steal for major studios and distributors who normally budget in upwards of $500,000 to $5,000,000 for such an endeavor.  Many Hollywood and entertain professionals have joined the project and donated their resources and time.

Of the tragedy and the decision to donate the proceeds of the film, James Weeks said, “Many of us on the project are parents. We can’t imagine what the parents and family members must be going through right now. They will need support, love, and counseling for some time to come.”

The project had originally planned to donate the proceeds to various other charities. Once the tragedy took place, however, the goal became even more personal.

About “Pwned!”

Being directed by James Weeks, “Pwned!” has been in pre-production for nearly nine months, with filming taking place in California and New Mexico.

The story follows seven companions who set out on a cross-country road trip of epic proportions in order to find their missing friend, as they hope to turn the tables on the bullies in their previous gaming guild.

For feature and cameo roles, the team has reached out to actors prominent in the geek and video game culture. Stars of the YouTube series “Meter Maids” Peter Podgursky and Lejon Stewart star as Todd, leader of the rag tag group, and T-Bone, a street-wise character reminiscent of Reggie Hammond of the film “48 Hours.”  As the situations the group finds themselves in get crazier, it’s up to Todd to keep things under control.

In addition to Peter Podgursky and Lejon Stewart, the cast consists of Nicole Wyland (“Video Game High School"),  Luke Kearney ("Inception" and the Batman Films), Nina Harada, Nick Wilson, and Josh Hirneisen.

The behind-the-scenes team includes Ken Allen, producer at Trion Worlds and composer of the King’s Quest and Space Quest video games, as well as Nancy Hayes Casting (“Toy Story” and “Scream”).  Luke Kearney (“Terminator Salvation”) is stunt coordinator, with Hannah Ervin as executive producer and Brian McKelvey (Lucas Arts and Sony) as assistant director.

Established bands have also joined the cause to be featured on the “Pwned!” soundtrack. They include In This Moment (No. 15 on Billboard 200), A Sound of Thunder, and the popular Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish.

The film will be shot on the RED EPIC Digital film camera and principal photography will begin April 1, 2013.

“Pwned!” promises to be the gamer anthem of the internet age.
