Xbox 360: The Official Magazine gets best-in-class new website

06/09/11 – Future, the special-interest media group, has revealed a new online home for Xbox 360: The Official Xbox Magazine, the UK’s biggest-selling games magazine.

The official voice of one of the world’s biggest games platforms, Xbox 360: The Official Magazine has unrivalled access to the globe’s greatest games. The new site at www.oxm.co.uk builds on this, putting its upfront news and exclusive content centre stage and adding three brand new dedicated channels – Xbox LIVE, Kinect and Movies.

This unmatched content is wrapped up in a striking new smartphone and tablet-friendly design. The user experience is enhanced thanks to improved site navigation and search, while the advertising offering is more integral, flexible and powerful than ever before.

The vibrant Xbox 360: The Official Magazine community is brought even closer to the action, with full social media integration and improved comments functionality.

Jon Hicks, Editor of Xbox 360: The Official Magazine says: "The print edition of OXM has long been the authority on Xbox 360, and the new-look www.oxm.co.uk extends that online.

“As well as being the essential guide to what’s happening on Xbox right now, we deliver exclusive features and videos from the award-winning OXM team every day. We’re overflowing with ideas for videos, features and events and the new site means we’ll be putting them into action very soon.”

Video is a key feature of the site, with a new video player on the home page giving instant access to a wealth of original content, trailers and gameplay footage. This includes the OXM Report, the magazine’s weekly video feature on Xbox Live.

The new www.oxm.co.uk spotlights updates across entertainment experiences which further define the Xbox 360:

The Xbox LIVE Channel keeps users up to date on the latest and greatest content available to download from Xbox LIVE – revealing hidden gems and unmissable add-ons.

The Kinect Channel is the hub for Xbox 360’s hugely successful motion sensor – the place to find news, reviews and features covering everything controller-less.

The Movies Channel covers the fantastic HD films available to buy or rent direct from the Zune on Xbox 360  – from blockbuster new releases to in-depth behind-the-scenes features.

Stuart Galbraith, Associate Publisher of Xbox 360: The Official Magazine, says: “The all new www.oxm.co.uk has been created to be the one-stop resource for all Xbox 360 consumers, with a fresh new look and more importantly an improved user experience.

“The Xbox 360 is fast becoming the world's most popular games console, and the new OXM site caters for both the passionate gamers who built the platform and the newcomers taking their first steps in connected entertainment.”

The new www.oxm.co.uk further strengthens Future’s impressive digital Games portfolio, following successful re-launches of CVG and Edge Online earlier this year. Worldwide, Future’s Games sites are read by more than 11 million gamers*. In the UK, Future’s print and digital portfolio reaches more than 2 million gamers a month**.

The all-new Xbox 360: The Official Magazine site is live now at www.oxm.co.uk.
