The original Dungeons was a PC strategy title with a dark fantasy twist. Ditching the military themes that most RTS games cling to, it instead saw players laying traps for unsuspecting adventurers.
Now gamers can put their devious minds together in Dungeons: The Dark Lord, which introduces multiplayer. Players must build and defend a deadly evil lair to guard the treasure, while sending out raiding parties to brave their opponents’ dungeons.
Single players haven’t been forgotten either, thanks to an extensive new campaign, with new items, characters and traps.“The original Dungeons was a strong seller for Kalypso and there is a solid fanbase out there,” says head of marketing Mark Allen.
“There’s also the opportunity for gamers who missed Dungeons the first time round to give it a try. They don’t need the original game.”
Kalypso will be running a pre-awareness marketing campaign across key PC gaming sites, utilising a mix of takeovers, MPUs and banner advertising. .
