Dynasty Warriors is Koei’s most successful series, and this is its debut on the new consoles.
Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Complete Edition for the PS4 and Vita contains the eighth entry in the popular Japanese series with its follow-up: Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends.
Xtreme Legends is a standalone expansion that adds five new warriors to the game, bringing the total character roster up to 82. In addition, there are new episodes, which focus on Lu Bu who is touted as being the mightiest of all the warriors.
The series’ Ambition Mode has been expanded upon, while Free Mode has also been changed to include the Ultimate difficulty level and a new Challenge mode
These titles will support cross-save and cross-play, so fans playing the PS3 version will be able to continue their save file should they upgrade to the PS4.
Tecmo Koei is promoting Dynasty Warriors 8 through its social channels. In addition, the publisher is taking over specialist web portals such as Videogamer and Gamereactor. Ads will appear on related forums, too.
This marks the first ever release of a Dynasty Warriors game on the new consoles. Both the PS4 and Vita versions include Dynasty Warriors 8 and Xtreme Legends making it a Complete Edition – two games in one. On the other hand, for those who have decided to delay the switch, Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends is the much anticipated continuation of Dynasty Warriors 8 on the PS3, and our fans are expecting it eagerly.
Dynasty Warriors 8 was a critical success for us. It charted high on the Top Ten and scored higher than any other Dynasty Warriors game. As this is our first step into the new console era, and based on the feedback we have so far received, we are confident that this title will perform very well on all formats.
